15th July-
Was up early thinking about how I am going to go driving on the other side of the road by myself. Got to the rental place early only to learn my car was still on it's way from dubrovnik and was about 45 mins away. Walked along the foreshore and then went throughout the paper work... Nearly an hour and half later the car arrived and I went over things quickly and I was off. Driving is weird and I have to concentrate hard on what is going on around me and try and work out directions. Made it out of the city with only one wrong turn that did result in having to reverse out of a narrow alley. Made it to Trogir in just over an hour. Relaxed there for a while exploring the old city with it's church's and fortress. Just looked from the outside as have been in a few others now and these didn't have an stricking interior features. A chocolate ice cream for lunch so help lift me ready to try driving again. Eventually found my ticket for the car park and set off. Travelled along the coast driving past the small town of primosten with it's island old town. Changed onto the tollway at sibenik and headed to zadar. The tollway has a speed limit of 130. It is so fast my little car has trouble going that fast especially if I have the air con on. Made it to zadar and then couldn't find where I had the directions and address for the hostel. Lucky I was able to stop at the bus station and convince the waiter at a diner there to give me the wifi code so I could quickly look it up. Was only a few min away which was nice. Rested at the hostel for a bit and then walked into the old city of zadar. As it is a Sunday afternoon there isn't much really happening. Most of the stores are closed. Walked around and managed to see the top 12 sights of the old including the land gate, the five wells square, a couple of churches, the city sentinel, st Mary church, the cathedral, the sea organs and the greeting to the sun. The sea organs were a good spot to stop and rest and enjoy the music that is made by the waves pushing air through a series of valves underneath the stone steps. Walked along and enjoyed dinner on the waters edge will the sun was setting. Walked back to the hostel were I had an early night as have started to develop a nasty cough and sore throat.
