8th July-
Woke up early as we are moored closest to the shore and the cafe right outside my door starting setting up the table and chairs around 6am. Went for a walk before breakfast. Breakfast is provided everyday on board the boat . Went for another short walk.... Trying to enjoy land as much as possible before departing at 10am. Sailed for a few hours enjoyed a nap as the water was choppy which made for bumpy ride. Enjoyed a mid morning nap. It is amazing how laying around and doing nothing on this boat makes you feel so tired.... Am sure over the next few days will catch up nicely on the lost sleep. I have a room to myself which is great. Swam off the edge of the boat before lunch. Used my inflatable lilo for the first time. Not that great and it losses air quickly. Lunch is provided every day on the boat. The chef does well as it is a tiny kitchen and he makes a three course lunch for us all every day. Another swim after lunch. The water is cool but as the day rolls on the weather gets hot so you are grateful for the cool water. Arrived in Hvar around 330pm and walked up the hill and steps to the old fortress site. Didn't go into the site just admired the view which was spectacular. The main town is pretty with the port and small shopping area and then the high mountains in the background. The harbour is full of amazing yachts. I would have never thought about traveling around in a yacht before but after just a few days on this boat I am beginning to see the appeal. Visited a beach bar and enjoyed a drink over looking the water before walking back into town and exploring the shops. Dinner at an Italian restaurant. The venetians had an outpost on the island and walking around you can see evidence of the lion in some of the older buildings. After dinner back on the boat. Walked back on board and the girls in the room next weren't able to open there bathroom door. Somehow the door had managed to lock itself with the key still in the lock from the inside. It then turned into a how many croatians does it take to open a door. The captain and sailor from our boat tried a key and then were in my room looking at how the door works before going back the room next store and trying to turn the key again. This wasn't working so then it was a hacksaw brought out... Then a hammer... Then the crew from the boat next to us came over with several suggestions on how get the door open. It was funny just sitting out in the railing watching the skit show unfold. Finally a drill was used to room the lock from the door and the bathroom was declared open! After that enjoy happy hour before heading out too a couple of the bars. Good night as it is cold off the boat so was nice to be out.
