Now 3 days after we got married here on Mahe. We have done a lot since; dined on amazing new foods or foods that we've had before but these being exceptional fresh flavours. We kyacked, snorkelled, swam in the sea and witnessed amazing marine wildlife.
Yesterday it rained while we were on north beach, we observed a couple snorkelling, it was obvious they had seen some marine fish in the coral but just as they came in and as we were leaving, we saw what looked like a dorsal and tail fin break the surface of the water, Shark!!! I grabbed the camera and ran into the sea hoping to get a close up of it. I kept watch but nothing until suddenly the fins broke the water again. It was a beautiful sting ray. Unsure of the exact species but wow. Also as we walked we spotted large fish feeding at the surface, amazing!
Last night we tried local food, lots of fish dishes. The fish here is amazing.
We then came back to our room. I'd felt unwell all day, like I was going to be sick but that didn't stop me eating.
We started watching a film, I fell asleep but was woken up by my Wife to show me a small gecko on our wall.
Our complimentary bottle of wedding wine didn't turn up as promised and as my Wife was convinced that the p****' next door had taken our wine, I wondered off to ask reception were it was.
The night before may I add, I decided to have a late night swim in the pool, lovely warm water, amazing to look under water with goggles on at night...
Today we're off on a walk / tour with a guide! Watch this space!
