Hello Everyone!
I know it has been a while since I last posted but I have just been busy with my classes (I know it's hard to believe for some of you to hear that I actually participate in anything related to school . . . but I do!).
I have been volunteering at St. Patrick's Community Centre, which is a place that provides immediate and holistic care for the homeless, those at risk of being homeless and the disadvantaged in Fremantle. Since I am under 21 I am restricted a lot in what I can do but I work at the front desk answering calls and assisting clients who come in for food support I also help serve the daily lunch. The employees of the centre have been very supportive and welcoming to me.
On Sunday I met up with another Beaumont girl, Ashley Akins who graduated a couple of years ahead of me; she is here student teaching in Perth. I am meeting up with her again tomorrow for lunch!
Today we went to a wildlife park where Jet the tour guide showed us around the park. We pet koalas (Australia has a law that we are no longer allowed to hold the koalas because it makes them too nervous causing them to die sooner). We fed kangaroos and saw many other native Australian animals; I even stood next to a snake, which for me is a very big deal, and we went to a farm show where we watched sheep shearing.
On Monday I leave for a week in the Outback so I will have more updates after that!!
Miss everyone back home!

Ann Potter Thank goodness you posted another entry! My mom and I love to discuss your latest adventures! Amazing that you are in touch with Beaumont alums on the other side of the globe! We miss you!
