Today we moved into our dorms. Morgan, one of the TEAN employees came to help us move our bags, her car we too small to fit everything so we put most of the bags in her car and carried the rest . . . haha we definitely looked like tourists carrying our huge bags down the street. Freya our resident director greeted us and gave us our room assignments. The rooms in my dorm, Port Lodge, are all singles (mine is very small). After we moved our bags to our room (I am on the second floor room 16) three of my friends and I walked around Fremantle. Fremantle is a completely different place than Sydney, Fremantle is very small, slow moving, filled with small stores, compared to Sydney, which is very busy, and clean, it is like a typical large city. Someone from the University showed us how to get to the grocery store, Coles, as there is not a dining hall on campus. Later in the evening we had our first community dinner. We will be having these dinners twice a week and all of the students take turns cooking. Along with having to cook everyone is on cleanup duty once a week for the kitchen. In Australia most students live at home and go to the closest university, so there are only about 75 students living between the three dorms on campus. Our dorm does have about half domestic students and the others are student from all over the world, Germany, Ireland, South Africa, China, and even Saint Mary's in South Bend.
