After a morning searching for a clever person to modify a VHF hand held radio for me, we had a relaxed lunch onboard, complete with 10 minute nap, before departing the very full marina in Scheveningen. It was full because of a major sailing regatta next weekend and the boats had positioned in good time.
We got out to sea, raised the sails, switched off the engine and off we went. A glorious sail in 14 to 20kn and a calm (ish) sea, because the wind was easterly off the shore, had us off Ijmuiden in 3 hours. We entered the harbour and branched off to a very thinly populated marina - built by Walcon no less.
The day started hot and ended very warm but clouds had arrived for the first time for a while now and the Netherlands Coastguard gave out a strong wind warning for the north of us. Ugh!
For the benefit of Barry, there are pictures of Jasper in the albumas we sailed along yesterday and today not looking too distressed I am sure you will agree.
