We left Sovereign at 0910 and motored till past Dungeness into varying seas and winds on the nose but after crossing the westbound shipping lane the wind changed and we had a glorious sail to Boulogne. Arrived in the "French" marina with lots of kind people helping us into a tad difficult berth without mishap. Much Gallic grunting and myttering got us in tidily, lots of "Messy" and many handshakes seemed to do the trick of cementing cordial relations with our Channel neighbours. perhaps a Brexit is not such a good idea...but !
Weather seems set fair so we will press on, Jasper is coping well but was not overjoyed at our being boarded by millions of flies some 12 miles out at sea, we are finding them everywhere now but there were none in the harbour, just out at seas! He hates them!
Several Dutch boats, a few Belgians, three Brits and one Maltese make up the transient community tonight, each going in their own direction. Our Dutch neighbours are off to Spain for this year's cruise!
