We had a great train from Berlin to Prague. It consisted of a series of 6 sestet cabins, none of which seemed to be reserved and then we got one to ourselves. We also figured out you could slide the seats down and create a sort of massive bed which was pretty comfy. Between Dresden and Prague the train was classed as a scenic train as it followed a river down and went through some pretty spectacular scenery. Once we got to Prague we got on the metro to find the hostel, but when we got to the hostel we were told there wasn't any reservation for us and they were full by this rather grumpy old woman. So we wander down the road to hostel Emma but they also have no room for us, so we call hostel Olet who also have no room for us. We then call hostel A Plus, who say they can put us in a room of 4 for the night so we get the metro over to them. When we get there, the hostel is next to a flyover and quite nice but completely dead and a little far out from the centre. We head down to the restaurant owned by the hostel and have a pretty nice, reasonably cheap meal. Me and Will walk towards the centre and decide to book another hostel when we get back. We book hostel Prague Tyn, which seems to be in a pretty good location and then head towards bed, but Rob and Will accidentally break Wills bed and we decide to deal with it in the morning. Next morning, we wake up and figure out we can just bend the leg back and it'll be fine. We then check out of our hostel and head over to our new hostel to check in, which seems to be in a fantastic location, and seems slightly more lively. After, we go and climb the clock tower in the old square, which has some fantastic views of Prague and we then have two 'maxi pizzas' for lunch, which are actually pretty big and good value. We then head back to the hostel to chill for the afternoon, then out for a large dinner and we head to the bar crawl. The bar crawl was very messy. Free booze for the first hour, so I threw up on the wall in the first bar after the shots combined with the very large meal got to me, but I just went back to the hostel, changed shirt, brushed my teeth and came back out again and then actually stayed at a good level for the rest of the evening. We ended up having about 5 Absinthe shots and 20 or so vodka shots before we moved on to the next bar where we had some tequila shots and a couple of rum and cokes. James threw up in this second bar, but somehow we all made it to the final club, a five storey club called Karlovy Lazne, which had dancers and each level was themed to a different type of music. Basement was radio hits, there was an ice bar on the ground floor, then dance, oldies, hip hop and finally chillout. I met a load of new people over the night from the Uk, Canada, Australia, France and various other places. In the club I ended up a nice short person called Claire and her friend (who was pretty high) who were both from Toronto. Eventually I decide to head back the hostel and just meet the others there, but when I get there I find the dorm completely empty and know that the others don't know the way back to the hostel. After various calls, I find out Rob and James are drunkenly wandering around near the square, and so I go and collect them. Eventually I then get a call from someone on Wills phone, who tells me Will had jumped in a taxi with them back to their hostel, thrown up in the taxi and now the taxi driver was threatening to call the police. I go and collect will, pay the fine (about 2000 crowns, almost £60), and bring him back. He then throws up in the hostel and the nice hostel receptionist guy comes and clears it up, and I then have Croatian rice with this nice Irish guy and Rob writes on his flag. We leave will spooning the bin incase he wakes up again before heading to bed. The next morning, everyone's feeling pretty rough so we have a day basically sleeping. I'm not feeling too bad so I collect tshirts, do the laundry and then go and buy the sleeper tickets, but apart from that all we do all day is have supper on the square. I go for a wander just before bed and see some interesting stuff, there was a bar where the bargirl was serving drinks from a bottle that was on fire, there was a drunk/high homeless guy having a karate fight with a traffic light and there was a fight outside a club near Charles bridge. It wasn't much of a fight, a guy in a yellow tshirt dragged a guy in a black tshirt out the club and started smashing him in the face, he was not in a very good way. I hang around in background incase I need to call an ambulance, but after a little he stops hitting him and just shouts 'don't f*** with a Russian' at him. The security from the club come out and just watch and then the Russian guy says 'you come with me and starts dragging the other guy down the street by his shirt, and I wander if I might need to call the police. It's ok though, he doesn't get very far and someone goes over to look after the guy in the black shirt, at which point I walk off. The next day we do the free walking tour in the morning, which is very interesting and we give our guide, Dave, a big tip. We then have more maxi pizzas for lunch and spend the afternoon playing rugby in a park just over Charles Bridge (Karlovy Most). Have dinner near there and then grab vodka to pre at hostel before heading to Karlovy Lazne again. I was pretty drunk and we see Jenny and some other LEHs. Have a decent night but sleep awfully because some high/drunk/ill Icelander is coughing and sounding like he's dying all night. At one point he comes over and looks like he's about to throw up on our stuff but Will tells him to f*** off, at which point he climbs into Robs bed (with Rob in it), and Rob pushes him out. The next morning we check out and then head over to the castle, which isn't that fantastic (just a collection of buildings really), but nice views, nice gardens and the change of the guards was cool. Chill in the park in the afternoon, then meet Jess and Sam for supper at maxi place and they tell us loads of stuff about Budapest. We then grab our bags and head to the train station to get our first sleeper.
