Hangovers, learn to love them . . .
Restless and hungover I dragged myself outta bed and set to the khao san road madness with my little heart fluttering away in my chest as I try not to let the hangover win. Picking up fresh orange juice, pineapples, water, trying to replenish my body. I stumble down the road and wait half an hour for the 503 bus which I get on at 10.30ish where I meet Maria.
Maria from Switzerland, well our bus journey flew by as we laughed and giggled away at life, she was my saviour as I woke up with a cold aswell to top things off, and I had no hankies, so I was a snotty nose mess until Maria provided me with her stolen hotel napkins. I keep sneezing, which is so painful, not exercising then doing my thai boxing yesterday has left the top half of my body feel like I had the crap beaten outta me yesterday.
We reached the chatuchak weekend market and said our farewells and went our separate ways.
I spent the majority of my time sitting down at all the coconut icecream stalls, then under a brolly for the addictive hot papaya salad with a couple from brazil and the states, where I was there for an hour or so where we discovered me and the woman have a spoon stealing addiction in common(my spoon stealing has been temporarily replaced while travelling to general innocent steals of books, earrings, ice creams, toilet rolls and clocks)
So they were good fun, in fact we started talking coz I stole her smoothie by accident.
I decided that I was going to head home as the heat and people all squished up wasn't helping the prolonged hangover. So I bought a giant giraffe lamp and a baby giraffe lamp for me mammy made out of a coconut and wood. I think I must have bought the biggest object possible at this market. Probably not the best decision to trudge around two giraffes with me, but that's what you do for family isn't it, for them to stick it in the corner of the room to gather dust!
I jumped on the 503 in the middle of the road as I have no idea where the bus stop is, when we arrive at the bus stop who but jumps on is Maria, how we laughed when we saw each other. She couldn't believe I'd bought this bloody lamp, she had bought a 20bhat comb.
The traffic was bad so we were on the bus for ages getting back. We said our farewells again, off we departed.
I've been sorting out my flight home and packing. The plan was an early night but it's now late and I don't see it happen, I just can't go out drinking again or ill miss my flight tomorrow morning. xx
