Well, Pierre and I have lucked out in Barcelona. Our hostel, located a handful of blocks from the Catedral de Barcelona, told us on our arrival this afternoon that they were overbooked. Not to worry, however.. We were promptly given the keys to a 3 bedroom apartment, complete with a large kitchen and living room, all beautifully outfitted with brand new ikea furniture. Arrived this morning in Barcelona, safe and sound! The city is slightly underwhelming at first, but as you move away from the train station, you begin to get a better idea of the flavor of the city. Beautiful parks, more space than Paris, and some incredible architecture. Well, we say goodbye to Paris this evening, catching a train from Gare d'Austerlitz at 830 ish, out to Barcelona. Today will be spent relaxing.. Slept in til almost ten today, got a fantastic sleep, so feeling really good today. My overall impression of Paris? Well, if the city had a motto, it'd be 'go big or go home'!
