Today was the warmest and most beautiful day of our entire trip. I even unzipped my coat! First we walked to the new Museum of Modern Art. The restaurant at the museum replaced the Winkler restaurant, but the magnificent view remained. The museum was a disappointment as the Emile Nolde show opens tomorrow, and we have to turn in our car in Munich by 1pm tomorrow. Also, there
was one small show of photography, which was very good, but that was it for the entire museum. So we decided to walk the 850m to the fortress that overlooks Salzburg. Once we arrived at the fortress the entry was extraordinarily steep, so we had a good workout. We walked around the large fortress (castle) then back to the museum then to our hotel. The walk was the best part of the day, and the scenery was a knockout.

Pam I can't believe you walked up to the castle!
sshollenbarger Following your travels is fun, dear friends! Norm, I believe that you have a birthday and I am sorry to say that I think it has come and gone. A belated very Happy Birthday!. You both look great(a little chilled, perhaps!), and the photos are a great vicarious pleasure. Continued safe travels. Maria will not be coming to Berlin. She is in Morocco for 5 nights. We had a great time in Los angeles..... must say, had mixed feelings re: the Hotel Bel Air. Hugs, Sherry
