So here we are, in Porto Alegre. The last stop in Brazil has come to an end, in an hour we will leave to take the bus to Iguazu Falls. So some conclusion, about this beautiful and enormous country should be written. Florianopolis turned out to be a paradise on earth, a place where time disappears and you could easily stop for years without even noticing. Our hostel was more then excellent, and so were truly nice all the people we met there too. It was all beach, swimming, eating and get-togethers by the evening times. As seen from the photos, one day we also tried out sand-boarding. Well... to be truly honest, only Sigrun did for real. It was like snowboarding, but on sand, and with no elevators what so ever, so a great sport since you gotta walk ages in the sand just to get on the top of the hill in order to come down. Yyeah. Sigrun went crazy about it, so I guess everybody should try it, once in a lifetime atleast. Anyhow, the journey had to continue, so on wednesday we finally got to Porto Alegre, to visit Ingi. Her host-mother has turned out to be fabulous, and we have got another point of view to Brazil - again. On friday night, we went out to fill our tummies with pizza. The place has waiters hanging around, and they offer you a pieces of pizza - so you can eat as much as you want and taste just about everything. And that is, exactly what we did. Specially thew 14 choises sweet-pizza selection stole our hearts, atleast for a while, since we ended up tasting each one of those. And they were great, amazing and fabulous. The waiters offered to show us the kitchen later on, so we made a lot of pictures about how to make super fatty delicious things to starving people. Great, the tummy ache day after was worth it. On saturday we went to check out, finally, the famous brazilian football, and witnessed Inter winning, once again. We bought a flag and all, to go as true fans. Today we tried to see some capoeira - though everybody keeps repeating southern Brazil is not the place, but it still is Brazil, isnt it? Anyhow, nothing to say about that, since we didnt find it. Darn. Gotta go check the north one day i guess.... Anyhow, kissing goodbye to Brazil should be done, so something general should be written too. It is difficult though - Brazil varies so much it is almost ridicolous to call this only one country. In the north, where we didnt manage to go, there would be more markets, less white people, more true capoeira and so on. In Rio the landskape was awesome, prices darn high, and it was filled with tourist eating service offerer. Barra da Lagoa was calm, small place, where people dont even lock doors during the night, where you could walk everywhere and change cash in ice cream buffes. Porto Alegre has fancy fashion - people still were those high bottomed shoes as they did in nineties in the north, and leggings instead of pants. The same population goes around with their thermobottles filled with hot water and mate-cups, to stirr up the local drink. All over Brazil though, the differences between the poor and the rich is enourmous and shocking. Maybe something more about that will be written when I get over this angriness inside my head (Venla)... The hilarous details to notice are everywhere - like many people still use horses as their mean of transportation, also the police once in a while, and all the other animals enjoy freedom too. Horses, dogs, cats and... even cows, which look weirdy by the way. It is not India though, and most of them are found in the country side. Fruits and fruit juices in Brazil are awesome and hooking, all over the place... mmmmm. Now it is time go to though, Iguazu Falls is waiting. Beijosbeijos...
