So, we had arrived at Lake Titicaca from La Paz (read re-write of previous entry) and gone to this very nice looking and cheap (2 pounds 50 a night each) hotel in Copacabana, the name of the town. We went to get some brunch after taking out some money, as Will had lost his card and Pete had none, when we found out that we couldn't get the 100 quid in Pete's account cos there was only one, visa only, ATM in the whole town, so Pete's card didn't work. Without money we wouldn't even have been able to get a bus out of there to somewhere that had an atm we could access, so were totally screwed. Luckily, Will still had $8 US left from when he first came to S. America, which we traded for 55 Bolivianos, 5 Bolivanos more than the cost of 2 bus tickets to Puno. We got on the bus, praying that Puno (in Peru) had an ATM.
Luckily for us, it did, and we arrived in the town, also on the shores of Lake Titicaca, at around 2pm, having missed 4 straight meals. The main thing of note we did in Puno teh next day was to take a tour of these floating islands made from a sort of cane which had people living on them, very interesting. That afternoon we got a bus to Cuzco, on which we met 4 guys who were also from South London, 2 of whom we knew, called Tom Turner and Jack something.
