Luckily my friend Lucy who has just done a 3 week tour of Peru was also in Lima, so before she flew home in the evening we managed to meet up for the day which was great! :-) We did an open top tour bus of Lima which took in the sights of Miraflores and the main part of Lima. We also stopped for a tour of the San Francisco church/cathedral (?) and catacombs which was interesting. It was a good way to see the city as it´s quite a spead out place where you could not very easily wander around....I have to say I´m not sure what I´ll do on my final day in Lima after the tour as I don´t really fancy exploring it on foot, I think we probably saw the bests bits from the bus....anyway we were back in Miraflores by lunchtime (which is an area of Lima by the coast) where our hotels were. We met Lucy´s three friends who she´d been travelling with and went for lunch down by the sea. We had a short wander after where we saw a bright mosaic wall, sort of in the style of Gaudi (you may have seen some of his stuff in Barcelona). It was then time for Lucy to go to the airport so after seeing her off I went back to my hotel and met my room mate. We then had our welcome meeting where we met the rest of the group (who all seem nice!) and we went out for dinner. The tour starts tomorrow (Sunday)!
