Thursday 29th September I spent the last few days visiting the 'pueblos' around Sogamoso. And there are many pretty little towns in the area! They are quiet, peaceful places, based around the main square and the church. In all the places I went to I saw 2 foreign tourists and that's it- in fact that's all I've seen the whole time I've been here (which has ended up being a week!) I travelled to Sogamoso on Monday (26th)-it was a short journey. Bus from Villa de Leyva to Tunja (45 mins) then Tunja to Sogamoso (just under 90 mins I think). The bus people make me laugh, they sell it as "Sogamoso directo" then once it sets off you find out it's stopping in Paipa! I'm a bit behind on my blog, this is from last weekend! Saturday (23rd) I stayed at the hostel in the morning so I could Skype with my niece and nephews. Was great seeing them and speaking to them! I ended up staying on longer with my 'Colombian family' and I finally left yesterday after having enjoyed 10 days with them in San Gil. They were happy for me to stay as long as I wanted- it meant a lot to be treated as part of the family and I felt very at home there. 12-18 September I have stayed with Elizabeth and Victor Eduardo in San Gil for the past week. I was going to leave on Monday, then Thursday and ended up staying for the week! I've really enjoyed being here, it's been lovely to be in a home and be part of the family and they really made me feel at home :-) I have had time to relax quite a lot this week too which has also been nice!
