Today was an awesome day! We had breakfast on the beach and then sat on a lounger reading until it was time to catch out boat. During this time I finished my book which I was quite upset by because I didn't have another book to read so I was thrilled when I found a book exchange cabinet on the island! The small things! I can't say there was a great selection and a lot of them were in German but beggars can't be choosers and all!
We boarded our sea spray boat at about 11 after getting the bigger boat to Manna island (we had a lot of sickies on this boat as it was a rough sea!). Our boat had about 40 people on it. As soon as we sat down we were offered wine which I accepted but Felicity sensibly declined (later I had to throw my wine overboard as the choppiness of the water made everyone feel a little rough!). We were also given fruit and little fruity biscuits. Our first stop was the island that castaway had been filmed on! Getting to shore was a little funny as we had to get into a smaller boat off of the big boat which proved a little tricky in the rough waters but luckily no one went over board!
We went snorkelling off of this island. I didn't realise that getting into the sea with flippers on was so hard! Fliss had a bit of trouble, I just walked backwards into the sea which may have looked odd but it worked! Snorkelling in this water was beautiful! There were so many different fish, many of them were brightly coloured. Some of the fish looked like rainbows and some of the fish were electric blue and tiny (these were my favourite). It's so tranquil under the water and the coral was beautiful!
Once we were back on board the big ship a BBQ lunch was served. We were meant to be going to a Fijian village for a cava ceremony but unfortunately the sea was too rough so we would not have been able to dock so this got cancelled! When we were about to leave the castaway island the staff realised that they hadn't attached the small boat properly, by the time they had noticed, it was a fair distance from our boat! Quick turn around of our boat and it was back attached! We docked up at manna island where our crew performed a cava ceremony. This cava is funny stuff! It made our lips and tongue go numb!
Next came the part of the day where I had to scare myself....we were told that if we wanted we were allowed to jump off the boat....well fliss and I decided to do it together....we stood on the edge and then held hands...1,2,3 fliss jumped and I let go of her hand and bottled it! After lots of 'encouragement' from fliss (ie asking a member of the staff to come and push me in) I jumped....(I jumped before he had the chance!). We got out and jumped in again together and this time I didn't chicken out! The boat back to our little island was amusing! An Aussie guy came to speak to us who obviously had the hots for Fliss...everytime the boat swayed a lot he steadied himself by putting his hand on Felicity's knee which we both later agreed was definitely un-needed! The most awkward thing was that we were sure that we had seen him with his girlfriend earlier in the day! He meant know harm, he had just had a fair few beers! When we departed the boat he expressed his hope to Felicity again, she reminded him that that was highly unlikely to happen!
We were so excited to get back to our little island and be greeted by our friends! We sat on the beach with the two girls that we had made friends with the previous night and watched the sun go down whilst making silly figures for photos!
Dinner again was lovely! This time there were 20 of us, we met a couple who were on their honeymoon, it had lasted for 2.5 months, they travelled around china, Tibet, auz, nz and Fiji! Pritty cool honeymoon!
I began to feel really seasick but after getting off of the boat 3 hours earlier! I felt like I saw still swaying (I wasn't drunk!) so 9.30pm and I'm in bed!
