Thanks for all the cards, pressies and birthday wishes, I had a great birthday thanks but it was eventful!
I had to get up early because a friend was moving back to Canada so I gave her a lift to the airport. While we were having a coffee I got a call from my boss saying that someone had reversed over my bike, got out of the car to look, saw the damage and driven off. But luckily someone who works at The Language got the licence plate number. So after I'd finished teaching I spent over an hour in the police station trying to sort it out.
Because all of this was back to back I didn't have time to return anyone's texts or call and invite anyone to the 'quiet' dinner I was hoping to have. But Jenny, Jane and my housemate Emma knew about it and there'd been a big birthday/leaving party for Lisa and me on the saturday so I didn't worry too much.
When I arrived at the bar I saw a notice board with Happy Birthday Nikki and a photo of me on it so I knew it wasn't going to be the quiet night I'd hoped for! Jenny had booked out the garden and arranged my closest friends (its difficult to get small groups when doing anything because there's always some taggers on!) to come along. She'd put balloons and photos up and made a real fuss which was lovely after all the festivities around my birthday last year so I didn't get time to be sad about not being with you lot back home!
After dinner in the bar we went to Bar Surat. We don't go here very often and when I got there I realised why - they usually have live music, but its played so loudly you can't talk. We then finished the night in club Ma Hey (All my friends) with some dancing.
All in all a lovely birthday! xxx
