Ok - so its been quite a while since my last blog but I'll try and fill you in on stuff. Christmas was ok but not great. Thailand is a buddhist country so they don't celebrate Christmas. As a result we were all working on Christmas day. At the private language school we had a big Christmas party, but as with most things in Thailand the end result was nothing like what you prepared for! Hey chaps! A few people have been wondering about the trouble in Thailand. Not sure what's been on the news but basically there was a corupt ex prime minister (Thaksin) that was loved by the poor (he bribed them with mobile phones and gave solar panels to the hill tribes like on the photo I posted) but he has sold the thai satellite system to Singapore and was planning to lease the Thai paddy fields to sri lanka so that the Thai people would have to buy the rice...

I'm not sure I mentioned this before but when I got back from my first week off in Koh Tao the school promoted me to senior teacher - not bad for 6 weeks of teaching!!! It means I've got a few extra bits to do but I get paid more money and get a car! Also the school is having a re-structure (they seem to follow me around!) and so as of November when I start the new job properly, I will be working mon-fri with weekends off. So I won't get any more week long break...
