Nikki's Travels
I'm back! Hello
Its seem likes ages since i've written anything here and the last few weeks have been hectic, a bit up and down but mostly brilliant.
Melbourne is a city with loads to offer, great bars, cafes, shops from heaven - which was just torture as i couldn't fit another thing into my backpack! and a beach which although could have been Southend (not the most gorgeous) was where we spent half of our time relaxing and soaking up the 34 degree sunrays! For the other half we decided to hire a car and took a road trip along the great ocean road which was totally stunning.
The rock formations carved by the sea were really impressive and the waves at Bells Beach were massive, proper big surf- apparently where Point Break was filmed (thats what Dad told me anyway!) Along the way we spotted wild koala bears munching on leaves and even saw a toddler one which was really cute!
On returning to Melbourne we did what all 'Pomms' visting melbourne have to do, we signed up to the 'neighbours night' at the local pub. I know it sounds sad, and it is, but trust me it was the best night we have had EVER! We were completely taken in and spent the night chanting to the neighbours theme tune inbetween meeting massive stars like Paul Robinson, Max and a girl who i'm still not too sure is! It was brilliant and after that we felt satisfied that we had conquered melbourne and so caught the 12 hour overnight bus to Sydney.
After arriving in Sydney in a bad mood thanks to only 2 hours kip on the bus to then to find out we had to share our room with boys - YUK! We were soon rescued by my uncle Con and we are once again enjoying the life of luxury with the use of the resident spa, swimming pool, sauna, gym and tennis courts - this travelling malarky is really tough i tell you! My only concern is that I may be starting to podge out a bit at the sides thanks to my uncles talent for cooking... he did however make up for this first thing this morning by waking the 3 of us up at 8am (on a sunday!) to go training with his dragon boat racing team, my god i have never worked so hard or been in so pain in my whole life!! But apparently i was having a good time! ;)
So far in Sydney we've seen the Harbour Bridge, Opera House, Bondi Beach, Darling Harbour, the Aquarium and have been to the stinky Fish Market which was all brilliant. We're hoping to see a few more sights before we leave later this week although with my aunty and uncle looking after us so well i'm not sure we'll ever leave!
I hope things back at home are good, I'm missing each and every one of you!
Keep me uptogether with all the going ons and gossip,
Love from me xxxxx
