So this is our first whole day on Koh Samet, arrived yesterday at about 2, had our backpacks on and had to find some kind of accomodation in the blistering heat so ended up in a little hut costing 800baht a night (about 12quid - sorry there's no pound sign on this computer) so that was proper luxury but we were a bit desperate. we've found another hut for half the price that we'll stay in for the rest of our time here. Planning to hire a quad bike and ride round the island tomorrow followed by a Thai massage on the beach and then thursday taking a boat trip where we get to go snorkelling and fishing and they bbq what we catch and have it for dinner so I guess if I'm s*** I go hungry! Was kinda surprised how commercialised Koh Samet is, it reminds me slightly of the Costa Del Sol so we're getting a boat over to Koh Chang on friday which is smaller and more chilled. Had the nicest dinner last night, it was a beach bbq where you chose want you want raw and they cook it for you, we so didnt understand so took our plates up thinking it was some kind of buffet - they laughed at us, but then again we seem to get laughed at a lot here...
