Saturday morning. I can't believe we can walk. Yesterday we saw the Archaelogical museum...very cool, and then walked the rest of the day. Really, the entire day. We spent many a hour in the Plaka, the shopping district. Found me a ring...HUGE surprise, I know. We spent quite some time looking for a specific car rental place. There are plenty of internet cafe's, so we'd done some research. However, they didn't have an address. At noon today they will pick us up from our hotel and hopefully take us out of the city. We are ready to leave here, that's for sure. We did see the Acropolis last night. I'm going to try to upload the pictures. If it doesn't work, I'll try again later.
Our plan is to see sights around Athens by car over the next 3 days. The rental seems pretty cheap. We'll see I guess. We just can't stand to be within the city much longer. However, we are finally getting things figured out and can get from Omonia square to Syntagma square, to the plaka, acropolis, and back to the hotel on our own. And we did that all and more yesterday.
Oh yeah, and pigeons...they are not afraid. Max has almost stepped on two. At the national building, where they flock for food, there were people holding several at a time. Not us...we've seen too many chickens with lice.
The hotel was really clean. The shower kind of sucked, toggling between scalding and freezing. But at least it was hot part of the time.
New rule, anybody who reads this needs to email us and say hi. We're getting sick of each other and the newness of the relationship is wearing off, so we're looking for some outside entertainment from other family and friends.
