Hello! We are in Sydney at the moment! Our Oz Experience adventure is over now which is quite sad... The last few days we've had a really nice crowd of people on our bus though which has been grand! After Byron Bay we travelled to Arrawarra where we had surfing lessons! It was so much fun! We all had to wear these hideous wetsuits with stupid names on - Nin was 'super minger' , Gregg was 'stag pants', Vins was 'totally stoned', Katie was 'extra small fun bags' and i was 'moisty!' We had lessons on the beach and learnt how to paddle and stuff and then we were let loose in the water! We all managed to stand up at some point - it was really funny watching each other fall off in the process! Katie was a natural though - she was really good! Our teachers were really cool also- in the evening they cooked us a big barbeque round a camp fire where a few beers turned into a few goons & a quick round of 'kings/ring of fire!' All a bit mad but very funny! After Surf camp we stopped at a place called Barrington which is inland a bit, just before Sydney. It was a really pretty place, we stayed in a huge house up high in the hills in the middle of a forest. It was absolutely freezing at night though - they had a hot tub outside which Katie had a go in - the rest of us weren't brave enough - it was too cold! At the end of the night, me, Nin and a few other girls we met were walking back up to the house where we were staying - don't know if anyones seen the film wolf creek but it reminded us of that! It was pitch black - thick woods and a river on one side and hills on the other - all very eery! Suddenly this figure appeared infront of us and started walking towards us...it looked like he had a beard and was quite old and we obviously didn't recognise him because it was dark. So anyway, we shouted 'hello' and he just didn't reply so we were like this is a bit strange? We shouted again and he didn't reply again but just started walking towards us but really slowly- it was so freaky! We all s*** ourselves and started running away and screming...haha, its funny now but at the time it was pretty scary! We ran back to the barn where the people who worked there were and the guy was like 'whats happened??!!' We explained our story to him and he took us in the van to have a look around to see if we could see anyone....we couldn't, so he took us back to the house. When we got there, our friend Mike was there and as soon as he saw us he just started laughing!!! It was him who we had seen and he said he had shouted but we were so busy bolting that we didn't hear him! So, we all started to get ready for bed, relieved that it was only Mike...when suddenly all the lights in the house went out (all we needed now was a random phone to start ringing and we could have been in a horror film!) None of us had reception on our phones so Mike and Amy said they would walk back up to the ranch and get help - we couldn't find a fuse box or anything! As they were walking out the door, from inside all we heard was a massive scream - even Mike shouted! We s*** ourselves again and started running around like mad people! However, about 2 minutes later, the lights went on and the guys who took us to look for the 'intruder' appeared, laughing their heads off! They were just trying to scare us, which worked! We must have looked like right goons! Anyways, i've just drowned on for about an hour about one thing! Sorry! However...before i go we have to tell you the most amazing thing thats happened to us since we have been in Australia........we arrived in Sydney and guess who was working at our reception????.......... None other that BRETT STARK from Neighbours!! (For anyone who can't remember, he was the geeky guy who owned Darl the parrot, Cheryl Starks son/Danni's brother?!) We laughed so much - Vicky just blurted out 'You used to be in Neighbours!' Haha!- Made our day anyway!! Apart from that, we havn't done much in Sydney yet - we're off out tonight because its Greggs birthday tommorow and also England are playing at 11pm so we are meeting up with all our friends from our Oz bus to watch it!
