Hey everyone! We are in Surfers Paradise at the moment! Down the road from Southport which is a bit bizairre! We are finally seeing a bit more sun which is good - topping up our tans! Me and Ninny visited Steve Irwin's zoo the other day - it was cool! He wasn't there though which was a bit gutting -we wanted to shake his hand and pat him on the back for his good work. ... We had the most randomist (thats not even a word?!) time getting there - we set off at about 9 and didn't get there till 1ish and its only meant to take about an hour! The guy at the train station told us the wrong information so we ended up getting off at the wrong train stop....TWICE! They were just random little Australian towns with like a garage and a corner shop - we were like, eh? the zoo can't be here! We went to ask the lady at the 2nd station and she was like yeah you've got off at the wrong stop and you'll have to wait for the next train and then get a bus to the zoo...we were getting really annoyed by this point but anyway we went to sit on the station to wait....suddenly we heard this woman hollaring across the track at us (think good old Madge from neighbours and you'll prob get an accurate image in your head), we turned round and the lady from the kiosk was like 'i've been on the blower to the train driver and the next train which isn't meant to stop here is gonna do a special stop here for you girls...if you get on the train here there will be a bus waiting for you at the other end to take you straight to the zoo!' haha.... So anyway, we got on this train and as we got off the other end we were met with three lots of people who we had never met before but knew we were the english girls trying to find the zoo!! The train guy met us off the train and escorted us off the train to the other side where the bus was - on the way we met two random builders who said 'ah so these are the girls you were looking for!' and then when we got to the bus, it was waiting especially for us! It was so embarrassin - we felt like Australia's most wanted! The guy on the bus then spent the whole journey to the zoo telling us how to read a map! :-/ !! When we finally got into the zoo it was really good though - we went to see croc and tiger shows - i've never seen them so close up before and the keepers were actually in the pens with them! We also fed some elephants and kangaroos! The other day we went Zorbin, it was so much fun! We had to climb into a huge plastic ball filled with water at the top of a hill and then we were pushed down!! You go flying and just laugh all the way down! We also got to be speed bumps for the other people which was a laugh! It was a bit scary though lying down on a massive hill waiting for a huge ball to fly over the top of you! Vics chickened out just before the ball got to her and ran away!! haha.... Yesterday we rented body boards and took them to the beach- tryin to be surfer dudes! It was so funny - the waves were massive and we were just getting wiped out! We saw some pretty cool surfers though ... Anyways we are off to Byron Bay today! Just waiting for the bus now....put a few pics up but the cameras run out of battery so we'll but some more up soon! Hope everyones beans are satisfactory....speak to you soon xxx
