Arrived in Fiji late at night during a Monsoooooonnnn !!! but it was still 107 degree, hotter than the sun !
I got to my hotel in Nadi and checked into the airconditioned room aaahhhhhh :-)
The following day i had walk around Nadi and relaxed by the pool in the tropical heat. Later that night i spotted a friend (Liam) form the kiwi bus so we had something to eat and a few drinks at the hotel. The next day was just the same, nice and hot so yopped up my tan by the pool. I also went and booked all my trips for the next 2 weeks.
Early the next morning i was picked up to go to Robinson Crusoe Island. It took about a 45min mini buss trip and then a 45min boat trip to get to the island, but as you will see form the pics it was well worth it ! We had a traditional Fiji welcome with most of the staff singing and playing guitar. Once we had checked into our rooms it was lunch time so we all sat down and got to know each other over lunch aahhhhh. Then the islanders put a show on for us which included singing, dancing, knife dancing and even fire dancing (which we would get to see at night later).
The islanders/staff kept every one entertained 100% off the time all day every day. They were all such a laugh, especially once they got to know you and every thing became more laid back. We did things such as Giant turtle hunting.... when we would one burried in a giant pit, Spider (one of the islanders) started prodding it with a stick to get it to move, getting every one in close to take a photo when it popped its head out, so every one got in close... the suspension builing when all of a sudden bill (an islander) jumps out from beneith the shell screaming !!! he had been hiding down in a massive whole with a shell over his head for the past 15 mins !! v-v-v funny. Our days on the island were filled with LOTS of snorkeling, Beach volly ball, Touch Rugby (note to self... the fijians can REALLY play !!) eating, swimming and relaxing. We saw sharks when snorkelinf and sting rays close to the beach (one guy even manage to get stung by one !!! but a bit of island first aid (hot water, onions and tea) did the trick. On a night we would dance in the night club all night long (a floor a roof but no walls). The Robinson Crusoe Island was one of the best places i have been on my whole trip.... even when the tropical rainstorms hit. Nothing would stop the staff from joking around and making sure we had a top time.
I decided to leave Fiji a week early due to Bad BAD weather that was due for the follwing week and there is not much to do on a beach when its raining. So i headed out to USA a week early.
