Hello guys!
Here's a new entry to update you on our travels.
We picked up our rental car to head across to LA and were presented with a bright orange Mustang! They claim we had been upgraded, but I think that nobody else wanted it.
The first thing we noticed about LA is that its massive, a thousand square miles or something like that. We were staying at Venice beach in a hostel which was literally on the beach. The hostel was terrible, but we put up with it for the location.
We decided to cram in some action-packed days so we did Universal Studios, Seaworld San Diego and Disneyland. Universal was great, we got to see the working studios and go on the set of Desperate Housewives. Seaworld was sad, poor whales and Disneyland was magical (cheese).
We also ventured into Hollywood which was very seedy, but fun. They were preparing for a premiere outside the Kodak theatre and we missed out on seeing Drew Barrymore as we had to leave early! gutted.
After a few days we took the cheesemobile to Vegas and to the Trump Hotel. Vegas was hot and we were glad of the luxury room we had at Donald's place. We had a huge spa bath and a tv in the bathroom mirror. The hotel was full of rich Americans and the whole place made us feel a bit ill after a few days, but to make us feel better we nicked the Trump slippers from our room.
We did a tour of the Grand Canyon which involved taking a mini plane from Boulder City to the Canyon itself. The experience was terrifying, we were practically sat with the pilot and due to the high winds it was a very bumpy ride!! The canyon was amazing and we had lunch on the reservation.
Vegas was crazy, we attemted to have a bash in the Casino, but it was a feeble attempt and we never really got past the slot machines. The shopping was fantastic and something you have to do during the day as it was so hot (any excuse).
next stop Fiji......x
