Got up at 8:00 and annoyingly i have developed a bit of a cold, pretty sure its from the night bus :-( left the room (checked out), then enjoyed the free breakfast again. Went and rented a bike, asked for a manual and got a semi automatic, very interesting to ride, no clutch and 4 gears, just throttle off and click through.
Rode to da nang for the beach (40mins ride). As we rode past the marble mountains a Vietnamese woman pulled along side and tried to sell us a tour/trip up the mountains, the lengths they go to to sell you s*** is amazing!!
Got to the beach in da nang, basically deserted, blue sky, blue sea and yellow sand, what could be better?!
Beautiful swim then nice relaxing sit while we dried off. Had a look at jetskis but they were very expensive, and i figured thai islands would have the option as well. we drove back to hoi an, and sophie had a little go at driving. Then went back into hoi an town and sophie picked up a dress she'd had made.
Went to hoi an beach for lunch then back to the hotel to pick up laundry - i had a t shirt missing :-( and sort ourselves out before the bus to nha trang at 5. Classic Vietnam for the bus, picked up at 17:15 then sat on the side of a road until 19:00! Get onto the bus and very happy to see its the same as the old one (which I quite enjoyed). However I got on and immediately went to the toilet, it was fairly hilarious, no seat and flush button missing of course (fairly sure that comes as standard on this bus model!). Sink and toilet roll holder were both filled with rancid, rotting pineapple, the smell was fairly intense! It was funny as it was so unexpected, but I've been in Vietnam long enough not to be surprised!!
