Day 2
After an eventful day we had a wonderful night’s sleep. We woke up to a beautiful day. With lots of things to organise it was all hands on deck. Liam had made a lovely wind sock in school and had attached it to a metal cable from the sun canopy on the top deck. Granny thought she would make herself useful and put up the canopy. Having unzipped it, the wind sock and metal cable took off and landed straight in the sea. Being a vital piece of cable we couldn’t do without it. They have to be made for the boat! We had no choice that to get it out of the water. We had 2 options. Pay 100 euros to have a diver retrieve it or try ourselves. All sorts of contraptions were made, a fishing rod, 2 broom handles along with a wire coat hanger attached with cable ties and tape, none of this worked , In the end we sent Dad down into the murky water, After an hour of trying we had success. Thank goodness for Liam’s wind sock! By the time we had everything sorted it was too late to take the boat out so we just went to the beach, We went out to eat but unfortunately before we had even ordered granny had already spilt a glass of red wine and broke the glass over Nathans new t-shirt. Another bad day for Granny! Looking forward to seeing our friends tomorrow...
