After a very long travel day I met Karen and Amanda in Buenos Aires.
We spent the first day wandering the market in San Telmo...street vendors, tango dancing and music filled the streets. We then went to dinner and a show at one of the oldest tango shows in Buenos Aires, the dancing was fun to watch but the signing on the other hand!
Day two in Buenos Aires had a different start...an elaborate scheme ended up with both Karen and I full of a mysterious smelly black goop, me cameraless and Karen without a cell phone or camera. Even though we did everything right they still managed to outsmart us....we also got our first ride in the back of a police car luckily we weren't being arrested :) while at the police station 3 other people arrived with the same problem, one man with the same story even!
After filling out police reports we went on with our day which included a trip to Caminito to see the painted houses and then to the Recoleta Cemetery. Although the cemetery was amazing and unlike anything I've ever seen, it was a little creepy. The coffins are visible inside the tombs and each tomb holds an entire family there are staircases inside and in some cases chairs incase you wanna hang out for a while!
Tonight the three of us are off for a steak dinner at a restaurant that was recommended by a friend of Karens.
