My last night in London :(
Tonight is my last night in London; I feel that I was able to see quite a lot during my stay. Here is what I did yesterday
Yesterday
I woke up quite early, 6 AM again and talked to Mom on Skype for almost 40 minutes. I've decided I love Skype, it is quite amazing. After that I took the tube to Piccadilly Circus and went to this bookstore called Waterston's. It was 8 stories, I thought I died and went to heaven. After that I took the tube down to the British Museum and met up with Jo. I had a great time; we walked through most of the museum and saw pretty much everything. I saw the Rosetta Stone, it was way cool. After the British Museum we walked around and got lunch, then headed to the National Library and saw the exhibit there on King Henry VIII and got the audio tour. Then we went upstairs and saw the rare books collection. They had so much awesome stuff there. They had one of the 4 existing originals of the Magna Carta, in addition to original things from the Beatles and Jane Austen. They had her specs and writing desk. We then parted ways and I took the tube back to the hostel. I took a shower and uploaded my pictures, and packed because I wouldn't have time in the morning.
Today
Today I meant to get up early, but did not succeed. I finally got up at 8ish and took a shower and ate breakfast and got ready to go. I packed my stuff and went upstairs to check out and discovered that I had paid through tonight. I went back downstairs and tossed my stuff on my bunk and headed out to meet Beca. I took the tube to Waterloo station and got lost, I was supposed to meet her at a body shop, and I was downstairs instead of upstairs. In my defense it is a huge station. We finally met up (Beca ended up having to find me after a few calls to figure out where we were) and we walked to get some coffee and have a nice chat. We chatted for two hours or so and then I headed to the Victoria and Albert museum. There is some majorly cool stuff there; I wandered around for almost three hours. Afterwards I decided I was hungry and wanted something to eat, so I started walking toward Harrods. I found a luggage store and got a new duffle bag (at 15 Quid it better last!) and continued on my journey for food. All the restaurants were bloody expensive around there so I kept walking and I finally decided that I was starving and ended up eating Dim Sum in the food court. It was quite good; I had steamed pork buns and prawn dumpling soup. I then walked around for a bit and did some souvenir shopping, not much though because everything is way out of my price range. I then decided I wanted to see Buckingham Palace, so I started walking that way and did some more shopping. I found this fab pair of shoes for 25 Quid ($40, expensive I know, but they are amazing). I also did a bit more souvenir shopping and went to Buckingham Palace. I then walked through Green Park and tried to find St. James' Palace and eventually did, it is behind a huge wall so I didn't see anything. I also found Spencer house but didn't get a good picture of it. I then took the tube home because it was getting late and I was tired. I decided, on the way really, that I should stop at Abbey Road. I did and got some good pictures and then headed home!
That's all for now, off to Wales tomorrow, and I'll try to get the pictures up ASAP!
