Pre-Departure Jitters
Today we had a small party at my parent's house, just family and a few close friends. It was quite nice. We had cake and mom made a bunch of yummy lasagna, probably the last home cooked meal I'll have in a while. For a while we were concerned that this party might be an "I'm sorry you can't go" party instead of a "YAY! Nicole is finally going to England" party. Personally I'm quite glad it is the second option. My medical problems are 90% cleared up, I just have to watch my diet and make wise choices about what I eat, and I can do that no problem. I think my mom was more excited than I was when I called her and said I could go, I'm pretty sure she started jumping up and down in the Dollar Tree... but the longer it goes on the more excited/nervous I'm getting. It is almost like this is a dream, I can't really believe that I'll be leaving on Monday morning to finally go to England, this is a dream come true. I think I have been planning this for almost three years now; it's about time it finally happens!
I'm almost all packed, I just have a few more loads of laundry to do and I'll be done, I already know what I'm bringing. I can't believe how much luggage Virgin Atlantic lets you bring, I can check two bags and have a large carry on with no extra charge, and I think that is pretty fanfreakin'tastic. I'm bringing over one small bag and a carry on, I'm planning on returning with quite a bit more, my inner shopaholic can't resist the awesome opportunities I'll have, like Harrods. I'll have to use all my energy to not spend it in one place :)
Well, it is half past twelve, so I'll sign off for now, keep checking back for more updates. I don't know how often I can post for the first two weeks or so, I'll be traveling around a lot so I won't have my laptop visible. If I can find a cheep internet cafe I'll update more often. Keep looking in for pictures!
