Moving in day!!!!
I didn't sleep. Well maybe a little but it was cat napping. Just one of those nights. Coral kept making people laugh by knocking things down from her top bunk. Money, bottles etc. Her charger XD. Eventually at about 6 I gave up. It was light and my body felt wide awake. So yer.
Even the others got up early, we were all moving and awake for about 8. Must have been nerves. Still, we didn't actually leave until 10:30. We weren't packing, just waiting around as we didn't want to arrive at the I-house too early as we had told them 12/1pm. We played a few word games before falling into hysterics after creating a story about A Randy Goat called Bob. Yer, that game creates weird things.
Anyhow, when it finally became time to go, we set off. Between the five of us, we had 5 BIG games, 4 rucksacks, three handbags and two extra bags, plus a winter coat. So as you can imagine it was quite a performance getting everyone from A to B. Hence why we had scouted the route the day before. Elevators trips were done in pairs, anymore and we made it two heavy as we were all carrying enough bags to be another person in their own right. We got plenty of looks, some in amusement, or bemusement. A few of scorn and a few of sympathy.
Barring getting off at the wrong station (not even sure whose fault that was), everything sort of went well really. Some of the gaps between the train and platform edge were huge though. The only real problem occurred once we got on the last train when Chantelle had some problems breathing. We gave her water and managed to get off the train ok. Except the next bit was the hardest bit. Getting the bags up the hill and to the I-house.
I think the lot must have burned off a fair amount of calories* getting the bags to the top. Some people will be surprised to know i made it to the top first. Before running back down to help Tom and Chantelle with their loads. Chantelle at this point looking very pale and weak. So all bags removed from her, I joined Coral and Issie back at the top. Tom and Chantelle appearing soon after.
All the Sensei's were confused by Tom, one recognising that he SHOULD have been staying as well but was no longer. Though she commented about keeping it a secret. They were really nice and helpful and while we were sorting paperwork had some conversations with him in Japanese which made him really happy.
Then we got good news! Coral and I were rooming together, as were Chantelle and Issie :D Yayyyeee!
So we dragged all our stuff into the elevator and headed to our new homes which were fantastic. We are all on the same floor and the shared room is huge. Though it only has a table and chairs but I'm sure we'll hook something up. The rooms are a good size as well, I have the on without a balcony but that's fine as I never really used the one I had in Jiujiang.
After unpacking, we headed to the 100Yen store (equal to £1 shops) and brought some missing essentials. Ie bins etc. There are still a few things we need to get but for now we are good. Tom hung around and chatted for a bit before heading on his own adventure to find his hostel. Leaving the rest of us to just chill and enjoy some peace and quiet. Or in my case plot. :D
*Forgot to mention something about the Karaoke. On some songs, it would tell us how many calories we had burned off. Some songs were actually fairly impressive.
