Hiya,
long time no blog I know! sorry!
Been settling into the Kiwi lifestyle well, working away in The Yellow Cross Bar, nothing to do with religion despite the name! It used to be a wool factory and has been converted into a cool old fashioned brewery style pub! There is an upstairs with balcony - lovely sun trap in the early evening, and rock bands play there every thursday to saturday night, great pizza and pasta meals and everyday a guitar player or jazz band down stairs in the front bar, pretty cool and chilled out, so trying not to stress too much! ha! Jenny and I seem to have opposite days off each week, but it is nice to have the day time to catch up and lay out in the sun! Though hats must be worn as already had sunstroke once and was horrible working till the early hours feeling rotten!
Other than working and sunbathing we aint been upto much! Great life! Jealous??!
There is a Buskers Festival here in Christchurch this week, seen plenty of street performers doing acrobatics and juggling etc, going to a variety type show on wednesday with a few folk from the pub so looking forward to that.
Most of you will have heard about my quadrupple blunder! If not - here is a laugh for you! The measures here are only 15mls, and I was unaware of the volume and the pourers on the spirits being set at a double at 30mls, and when a customer asked for a double - well I gave her one! Which I later was to find out was a quadrupple and not allowed! oops! Well I'M not a mind reader afterall! Makes a funny story I think!
Also had a religious stalker, who has called the bar 3 times now, that last time I was quite blunt and told him not to call again, think he got the hint! He was trying to get me to come to his church and join his friends for dinner and go to a ceremony! No way! But also that God had asked him to come speak to me and to take me to his church to worship him, a bit full on for having collected his empty glass and making polite chit chat!
Other than that served lots of nice Kiwi's even the tipsy ones are all polite and friendly!
Away back to the red house for some of Jenny's pasta salad she made today - yum yum! can't wait!
Till next time! XX
