sunday 6th aug - penang
this morning the others went on a trip aroud penang hill and some temples but i had a headache so stayed in bed, needed some time on my own just knackered! they got back at one and amie and i went on a mission trying to find someone to braid our hair as its getting so annoying! out of luck ...in the evening we went out for indian meal at a traditional indian restaurant...and by traditional i mean u have to eat with ur hands. hindu eat with their right hand and use their left hand when they go to the toilet! we ate currys with our hands from a banana leaf as they hav so plates...was wicked fun and we leared the proper technique to eat with. i ordered a korma as not a big spicy fan but ended up with a madras!! omgod my mouth i couldnt feel my lips..the waitress \was really worried about me so she bought me some lavender seed things to cool my mouth and sugar water! was ok after a while...then we did the typical student thing and headed to the offlicense for cheap booze, went back to hotel and had a few drinks on the rooftop terrace! xx
monday 7th july - penang-surant thani (THAILAND BABY!!!)
Left at 9 this morning, and headed for the Thai border. negoitated all the guns and guards and crossed the border, we were then picked up my brand new mini buses, which dvds players. so we watched films to pass the time. i tell u what they certainly look after us on this trip! we were then involved in a minibus crash (no i wasnt driving!), which scratched the new minibus! stopped off for lunch in a nice cheap restaurant, we would not be able to afford to eat in trhe places we are eating in back at home, they are amazing! although i ordered a prawn salad i ended up with squid! but as it only cost 1 pound i ordered something else hehe! arrived at Surat Thani at 6 after a long day travelling, and visited the night markets, where some of the others tried fried bugs like a bushtucker challenge! few drinks, early nite
