I was woken early this morning by throbbing legs and soon discovered I'd been eaten alive during the night. It was driving me insane but it was nothing that dowsing myself in liquid soap wouldn't fix. I got up after the alarm and sorted my bag out for today. I also unpacked my whole bag and repacked it, it was seriously pissing me off. Whatever possessed me to get this type of bag I'll never know. Suitcase FTW. I'll be so glad when I can get a car in Auckland and just chuck it in the back and forget about it. Instead of, putting it on the coach, off the coach, on the coach, off the coach (I'm sure I'll get used to it and it's kinda essential but it's a major pain in the ass)!!
After stocking up on breakfast we left early ish for our journey down to Katherine. We spent the mornings journey filling in lunch orders for tomorrow, choosing roommates for Alice Springs and picking more optional trips. We stopped at Mary River for a pee break and carried on through to Katherine where we stopped for lunch. It's not a huge place but big enough to stock up on food and alcohol for the next few nights!
From here were drove to Katherine Gorge to board the power boat which was taking us down 3 gorges. There was about 20 odd of us on the boat and although I s*** myself at first, I took a man up pill and did exactly that. Awesome fun! Got very wet but got some great pictures. Saw a crocodile and was about to take a picture but some d*** stood up infront of me and I missed it. Wubbish. We had a good time anyway.
On the way back I offered Jade a polo, only to be returned with a bewildered look - she'd never heard of them! It's been great swapping local stuff with kiwis, ozzys and other nationalities! Micky the little Japanese girl wants us all to wear lipstick on the coach tomorrow for lipstick pictures - wtf is that all about?!! Bless her, she is sooo naive but very cute.
Once back we got allocated our rooms and headed off to chill for a bit. Tonight was our pizza pool party - awesome fun! Who would have thought that 30 odd people could have so much fun throwing a ball round a pool?! Great laugh. We also got Jade to sing the combine harvester song (she's a kiwi dairy farmer, it was very funny) and I got her to say mental mental chicken oriental in an English accent. She did it while I was swimming and got it down to a tee - I almost drowned with laughing so much!!
We needed to finish our washing though so we cut it short and sorted our stuff out. Jade found a frog in the toilet before we went out so she's now on bog patrol tonight!
We have a long day tomorrow, 7.5 hours of driving and overall a 12 hour travelling time. Time has been passing by so quickly but tomorrow will be the ultimate test!......
