Hi everyone,
Well seem to be a bit behind with my blog again,
after my month at Manta went over to the Galapagus islands for 6 days, was really fantastic. Did a four day cruise on a small ship- there were 13 passangers so was nice and friendly. Visited quite a few islands, every day we would have 2 guided walks and 2 snorkeling sessions. Saw so many animals, espercially sea lions, tortoices, marine iguanas, lots of birds, crabs etc. There were so many animals and they were so tame, they were right in front of us and didn´t even seem to notice we were there! The snorkeling was fantastic too, saw thousands of fish, sea lions that came over to us and were somersalting in the water right in front of us, turtles, and some penguins. Saw volcanos and lava tunnels and flows and the geology of the islands was really interesting too. At night we watched wild life programes and documentaries on the Galapagus and Charles Dawrin etc.
After the cruise had an extra 2 days of Santa Cruise the main island where I visied the Charles Darwin research Centre where they breed turtles to be released into the wild, and saw Gorge- the famous tortoice who is 120 now. Went on a day trip around the island and did more snorkeling, and went horse riding in the highlands and saw loads of wild tortoices.
Really loved the galapagus, was my favorite part of the trip so far, would def love to go back again one day.
Anyway, after the galapagus flew to Peru to start my group trip around Peru, Bolivia and Brazil, but will have to catch up with that another day as run out of time now,
Nic x
