We made our way back to Calleigh (not Kelley :) to take the ferry back over to Dover (the trip we had made oppositely 28 days before). We arrived in London around 4pm after a quiet/sad bus ride with Contiki.
Nick and I right away weighed our bags and threw out a few things to make weight (and then I bought some London souveneirs :). We went back to the fish and chips place by russel square that we ate at before we left with contiki (going full circle). We were exhausted and headed right back to Hotel Imperial-Russel Square.
In the morning we met Rhonda, Christina, Mel and Stacey- took the Underground to Heathrow 3 and begun our journey back home.
The flight from London to Chicago was great- about 6 hrs. We were suppose to have a 2 hr layover in O'Hare (Chicago) then to Detroit but our flight got cancelled then we got on another flight which was delayed at least 3 times. We finally made it back to Michigan around midnight (glad we got back b/c Nick had class the next day!). Saying we were tired just doesn't justify it- we were very excited zombies!
All-in-all, we would have never given up a minute of our European Panorama trip, but I must say we were ready to come home and see friends and family, print pics, and tell people about the world that was just opened up to us. I feel so fortunate for such an experience that I am having a hard time putting into words. BUT we had about 7000 pictures... so I finally have 2 MASSIVE albums put together and a picture book that we love showing!
Part of my heart will forever lie in Europe and I am grateful for all the friends we met with Contiki (the Aussies want to have a reunion in Australia in a couple years :). I am also so glad that Nick and I share such precious memories for a lifetime. We look forward to returning to Europe someday- after we get real jobs and get through grad school...
Thank you for reading our blog- we appreciated all the love and support in your messages.
