WELCOME to our European Vacation Blog! 
Please follow our blogs and check out our pictures as we both experience Europe for the first time. We are SO excited to have the opportunity to see 12 COUNTRIES in 33 DAYS and we would love to share our experiences with you! Follow us from: England, France, Spain, Monaco, Italy, Vatican City, Greece, Austria, Germany, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, Netherlands, and Belgium. We will do our best to update frequently. Our trip will begin very early on Friday, March 28th as we depart from the Detroit Metro Airport at 7:30am. After a lay-over in Chicago, we will arrive in London's Heathrow Airport at 10:35pm. The first 2 days we will spend in London and then start the Contiki Tour. Our trip will unfortunately have to come to an end on April 28th, but we will be so excited to come back and see our family and friends... after a very long night!

BEFORE TRIP INTERVIEW:
1. Most looking forward to seeing (country)?
Nick: Italy
Kristen: Vatican/Spain/Austria- really all 12!
2. Why?
Nick: I am intrigued by the entire country and culture.
Kristen: I can't wait to see Saint Peter's Basilica and walk where Pope John Paul II walked, use a bit of my 7 yrs of Spanish, and see the beautiful Alps!
3. What we are looking forward to least...
Nick: Pay toilets and different toilets. "Unfriendly" french... from stories.
Kristen: Expensive food and wanting to eat it all!
4. What food we can't wait to try?!?
Nick: Pasta (sticking with the Italian theme)
Kristen: Gelato!
5. What food we are not looking forward to?
Nick: Fish... on the menu lots.
Kristen: Breakfast- a roll and coffee??? What about ham, eggs, pancakes, and bacon!?!
6. What we will miss least in the United States...
Nick: The English language- I like "romance" languages.
Kristen: My stressful life- I think I'm going to like the "siesta concept" and long meals.
7. What we will miss the most in the United States...
Nick: Free bathrooms (when confronted why not his family- he said cuz we can communicate over this blog...)
Kristen: My family/friends/Caleb... OH and Taco Bell!
We planned our trip last October and have went through two date changes- so we cannot wait to depart. We are blessed with the opportunity to see and experience many different cultures and landscapes on buses, rails, cruises and by foot- opening our limited view of the world as Michiganders! Contiki is a travel group made up of young adults and we will have the opportunity to meet friends all over the world.
While we are both a little anxiously nervous/excited, more than anything we cannot wait to see the world together and make memories to last our lifetimes. For now, we have lots of packing to do in little time (and in a little 44 lbs. suitcase
!).
