Today was the day I had been looking forward to since we booked the tickets!
I surprised Scott at his new Judo Club. Just to fill everyone in, Scott is a young lad that I used to teach judo to until he and his family emigrated to New Zealand earlier in the year. I was very sad to see him leave as he is the perfect student, has great potential and he had a lovely family behind him.
Was a bit of an operation being smuggled in to the club. They had their session and then award presentations (well done Scott!) and a bit of food/ randoori free for all after... Nick was snapping armlocks and strangles on his challenger before being later told that he was only twelve!! Wouldn't have guessed it though. And he impressed the kids teaching them some weird hula hoop twisting flight thing. Even Emma hadn't seen it before!
Once the session had finished, after tearing Nick away, we made our way back to Paul & Michelle's house (Scott's Parents).
They had a resident stick insect called Jeffrey which was evicted because Emma got freaked out trying to get in the shower with it looking at her. Pretty cool it being in the house though... Wild stick insect. And the hoo hoo bug in thier kitchen sink was interesting and pretty gross and MASSIVE! Crash course in NZ house bugs... But no Weta yet... Still waiting.
