hello our faithful fans :D
alot has happened in the last few days so strap yourself in for a long read! on friday as the whether had finally picked up we headed to mission bay, a beach about a 5 or 6 miles from our apartment!
we arrived on a very very quiet beach and after remembering the reasons why none of us have been to a beach for close to 5 or 6 years (because u get sand everywhere and theres lil to do when u dont have a bucket and speight) we decided to cook up some mischeif and entertain the locals, by burrying steve in sand...... obviously this wsnt quite entertaining enough for us, so letting our imaginations wonder we sculpted him two glorious bossums! i have to take credit for the left and nick was the constructor of the right, whilst tom manned the camera! it ws a good team effort and we were very thankful when others began to admire our work..... it jus so happened tht there ws a school trip to the beach, so we sorta helped turn it into an art lesson aswel as a geographical trip! suprisingly i think the teacher was the biggest fan of our work, she tld the students to come and look at 'the lady' steve was not ammused! but a few locals appreciated wot we had done aswel and i think many of u have enjoyed it as the views are over 400 in jus 5 days!!
after our enjoyable time at the beach we decided to go to admire a fountain just down the road from the beach, when we arrived we were greeted by an asian girl.... she had a camera and ws with a friend and approached us, at this time we thought she ws guna ask for one of us to take a photo of the pair of them, but no she wanted a photo with us four :s it ws rele odd, we came to the conclusion tht she too appreciated our sculpting work and jus was a fan and wanted a photo!
after our time at the beach we somehow thought it would be a good idea to walk back after being told tht its onli a 45 minute walk, the person who informed us of this must have been an olympic athlete of some kind as 3 hours later we arrived at our apartment exhausted...... during our walk i mistaked a cemmetary for a mini golf course, in my opinion it looked like one but the guys found this observation quite amusing, and Tom believes tht all reptiles are A sexual....... he did go to eton!
the day after me nick n tom began our porter job! it began at 7.00 in the morning, we were jus moving bags up to rooms and parking cars, i got to drive a bmw :) was very very happy about tht BUT whilst moving expensive cars was enjoyable the job sort of lost its edge after me n nick seemed to be accussed of stealing someones bag! whilst it ws quite clear tht we had obviously not stolen a suitcase.... i mean where wldve we put it??? jus hide a huge suitcase in out back pockets, it seemed tht they had jus blamed us temps for this c*** up as they dd not want to get in trouble themselves! so me and nick were interregated for n extra hour after we were meant to have finished work, not impressed at all.
the next day we went back evrything went swimmingly until i dropped a trolley of bags onto my hand, i milked of cors and got to finish early, tom n nick were meant to finish at 3.30 but they too wormed there way out of 2 n hlf hours work. so after being in a much more up beat mood than the day before we decided to go for a buffet dinner, tom was obviously in his element as he put away four courses whilst we all struggled wiv three. was a very good buffet tho and we all made the most of the all u can eat. after we went up the sky tower, and no mum and dad we were not drunk lol, it was jus rele hard to take photos through the glass! we got some fairly good pictures tho but the view was absolutly breathtaking, u were 240 metres from the ground and 60 stories high, unfortunutly at the top view point it was mainly couples, so us four lads embracing eachother in photos made us a lil self concious of what others may be thinking!
on sunday it was our last day of portering, turns out 240 ppl were checking out of the hotel and 350 ppl were checking in all in the same day, and we had to deal with all of their baggage, also we later found out tht we worked on the one day they had a cruise coming in from now until the end of april! this was back breaking labour and made me wonder how the hell my brother does this sort of thin 5 days a week 12 hours a day, yet i cld barely manage 9 hours! as you can imagine we were all jus about ready to die, so we went to sleep pritty earlier so we cld be fresh for our first day off, in three days!
yesterday we had a lie in after three 7.00 starts we thought it ws best to jus laze about, then in the afternoon we went down to auckland domain to play football, where we met a dutchman a frenchman and a turkish.....man??? us being the proud english decided to take them on in a little three on three, i think our fitness levels shone through as after takin a 2-0 lead we conceded 7 in a row and eventually lost 8-3....... today we are feeling very very sore but have decided to go out this evening with the dutchman..... thts rite were making friends lol altho after spending a month jus talkin to eachother im not too sure me tom n nick remember how to socialise!!! we shall find out!
tommorow we are going to see alan and he is getting his students to cook us a free meal and then we shall be heading out for the weekly poker nite, which im sure shall be written about in our next blog! hope evryone enjoyed the read.
