Alarm set for 9am, dressed and out by 10. Instead of going the same way down the allies we went in the opposite direction, which actually brought us onto Khoa San Road and funnily enough it was alot more like what we were expecting - busy with lots of stalls, shops and people trying to flog stuff!
We really needed to get a printed copy of our excel spreadsheet (aka our bible) so went to an internet cafe which was also a travel agency (Welcome Travel). As well as printing our spreadsheet we also booked onto a 1 day tour of Kanchanaburi, which included Tiger Temple, Bridge over the River Kwai, Death Railway, Jeath War Museum & the Erawan National Park. They are picking us up at our hostel at 7am and we will then be out until 7pm. All for only 600Baht each, 10pounds.
We then made our way back to where we had been last night to get some better photos before embarking on our first Tuk Tuk experience to the Big Buddha, really beautiful. Again on Tuk Tuk we made our way to the standing Buddha. We then ditched our Tuk Tuk driver as it begun to feel like a bit of a con but at only 5baht each we had done well.
We then made our way to the Grand Palace, we each paid an entrance fee of 300baht and then we explored the temple and palace. Busy but breathtaking, never seen so much gold before!! Best bit had to be the emerald Buddha.
We made our way back to the hostel, stopping for a drink in a bar/restaurant down Khoa San Rd, which we then went back to for dinner after showers and a rest. We both tried a Thai meal each, rice with chicken and veg. It came to 200Baht including our drinks, so around 3pounds ish.
