last post was an error. Good morning...as I sit and read your blog while drinking my coffee, I cannot imagine how frustrating this must be, as far as the lack of proper setting, lack of medications, lack of all that allows us, here in America, to pratice our mad medicine skillz, however, you say there is a flip side and the people are happy. I guess you could say, if you don't know what your missing, your doing pretty good, but you know, and I am sure that is weighing on your heart. Thank Will for us for allowing you to use his camera, I don't think I could make it without some photos :) Please be careful with the monkeys and snakes you pick up...your making me nervous!!!

Your secong blog reveals eye opening facts about third world poverty. These scenes and situations could also be happening in Africa or India. You are right:these people are a testament to the power of dignity and self respect in the face of adversity.
Its strange that one of the women blamed "the hole they live in" for illnesses including Malaria. Malaria got its name because ancient scientists noticed that Malaria occured commonly around stale smelly stagnant waters or marshes. They didnt know it was a breeding ground for plasmodium carrying mosquitos. These were the days before men knew of bacteria or germs. This was the time when it was believed that all human illness was due to an imbalance of the "humors" or "vital substance". Anyhow, it was believed that this illness was caused by breathing in MALodorous AIR form the marshes.Hence the name Malaria.
Share this little tidbit with your friends tonite and you will get a Gold Star.

Wow! You are finally there. Hope you have a culturally immersive experience. Promise me you will try some Quinoa...then you'll understand what the fuss is all about.
Be safe and dont forget your bug spray, sunscreen and malaria pills.
