Hey gringoes!!
We moved to Mendoza now which is much more my kind of place. The sun is shining, although not enough to go sunbathing, can just about manage a t-shirt but it`s better than wearing everything I own!!
Mendoza is in the middle of a desert (a bit like vegas) and only is here due to the irrigation system all over the town which allows lots of trees and grass to grow. If you go outside the city it`s just desert for half the year and ski slopes for the other half. There is no snow at the moment but hopefully in the next month there will be some and as we go further south there is more hope, I may even get to ski on my birthday.
On Sunday we caught the bus out into the desert and went to some hotsprings. It was kind of cold outside but of course the springs were really hot. Steve had to drag me out at the end.
Yesterday we went on a bike and wine tour which is a lethal combination. Your given a bike and a map and you basically bike round and get drunk for free. At each place they explain in detail about each wine and the flavours you can taste but by the second one we`d got bored of that so just necked the glass and then biked on to the next one. Thankfully the wine managed to make me forget how uncomfortable my saddle was, I can bearly sit down today!!
We`re out of here tonight on another lovely 17 hour bus marathon to Bariloche where we hope to hire a car with a kiwi couple we met the other day so we can get out and do some hiking, I`m going to need some practise if I`m going to make it up machu pichu.
