Heading from Argentina we headed west into Chile. We arrived late to a town called Valparaiso and headed out to grab something to eat and all we seemed to be able to find was hundreds of hot dog restuarants (the 'completo' ... hotdog dripping in mayo and guacamole). Not wanting to try what seemed like the national dish we went for some thing else off the very limited menu which when it came out consisted of hot chips with melted cheese, fried onions, peppers and topped with an oily egg (nic´s had some type of meat in it as well)... yes a heart attack waiting to happen! The next day we checked out the nearby resort town of Villa del Mar, and decided to give the completo a go.
Heading south through Chile we ended up in Puerto Montt, a port town surrounded by massive volcano´s covered in snow. From here we caught a ferry (a 4 day trip) to Puerto Natales. Although the ferry trip was a little average we meet some fantastic people, read trashy books, played funny card games, played bingo, saw some beautiful sights and had loads of fun.
