Drove to Canberra. Hideous. The journey is about three hours down a dead straight, boring, ugly road. When we got there we wondered why we had bothered. It is possibly one of the ugliest and most boring places I have ever been. Although the town was constructed in the early twentieth century, it looks like it was built in the 70s. Horrible boxy buildings, everything flat and symetrical. Although the town was completely planned, and you'd think that that would be a good oportunity to create a nice looking place, it wasn't. We decided to do a bit of shopping, thinking that the Capital City should have some decent shops. Wrong again. Everything about this place was grey, boring and flat. Do not recommend anyone going there.
