alex's most Excellent adventures!
Today woodsy and i were driven around bangkok in a tuk-tuk! These are three wheeler bikes and are driven by crazy thais who are constantly trying to rip you off and take you to jem and tailor shops.
Being taking around in a tuk-tuk was a cool but somewhat scary experience. Cornering main streets on two wheels when your vehicle has three can be hair rasing. Nonetheless the day involved visiting a few temples and tailor shops and booking up a trip to chaing mai on an overnight bus leaving the next day!
Later on randomly got speaking to a thai man called 'wat' who was really friendly and just wanted the opportunity to practice his english on us. He showed us the main temple in bankok and took us around parts of bangkok the tourist don't venture to. Was nice to see the real bangkok and its really true that here your never more than fifthteen feet away from someone selling food. The street are lined with food stalls selling lots of thai dishes, insects and pad thai (a thai dish with noodles, eggs, beansproats) etc.
Woodsy and i ended up sharing a meal with him in a club where the girls danced on the tables. Said he went there for the music, yeah right! Later that nite woodsy and i went back to the khao san and met some thai girls. They took us to a unlicensed/underground club in which we had to sneak in under the shutters. Was basically a shop with a room upstairs hidden away, but banging out some phat tunes.
Tommorow we head up north on an overnight bus for chaing mai! Will take about 7 hours so shud be an experience!
