Today I woke up early as Jude was off to the gym. I took the opportunity for a sleep in. We found a great place for breakfast which made omelettes to order. We did a bit of shopping before going on a duck tour.
The duck tour is a car/boat which drives on land and then goes in the water. Our guide was called "Harley Davidson" and he certainly liked to talk. We saw a lot of Boston and then went for a trip on part of the Charles river.
In the afternoon dad had another sleep and the women went exploring by subway. Our first stop was the Boston Common. It is a park in central Boston with a huge swimming area, a bit like South Bank. On one side there was an encampment of redcoats. The redcoats had marched in to town in the morning and set up camp on the common. During the day they staged re-enactments of battles between the redcoats and the settlers.
Being exhausted from the war we set off in search of coffee and found a great pastry shop.
Last night we found a seafood restaurant for dinner- yum yum. Another great day.
