Well well well..! It's 14th September 2008 now, I leave work in 2 weeks and 5 days, and I leave Newcastle in 4 weeks and 2 days. Ive bought all the main essentials for my travels now, rucksack, walking boots, insect repellant, sleeping bag, bag liner, this and that. Still have a list as long as my arm of things im yet to purchase and still have a lot to sort out before leaving. I have decided to resign from my job a week earlier than originally planned as I have so much to sort out, and lots of people I want to see before I leave.

Currently trying to sort out phone issues and sim card issues for when im on the move, probably will purchase some sort of cheap international calls sim card and try and stay in touch with family and close friends that way but other than that I am relying on internet cafe's and phone cards when I get to Sydney.

Getting more and more nervous as time goes on but I know as long as I have a proper itinerary, and enough money in my pocket to get me out of any sticky situations with a bit of comon sense I will be fine, when i've arrived in Bangkok and have met the group that will be when I start relaxing more and enjoying it rather than be completely terrified! And i'm 99% sure I will cry all the way to London, get off the plane, then ring everyone one last time.

Will probably get some currency converted before I leave, just enough for each place i'm visiting incase of emergency such as needing to buy on-the-spot visa's into countries, unplanned extortionate taxi's or whatever else on earth I could possibly be stung for. Apparently when flying out of Bangkok you have to pay a departure tax fee of 700 Baht =O! Glad i'm travelling overland down to Malaysia and flying out of Singapore haha, hopefully will bypass the fee by doing that.
