Hey Guys!
Yet again I must apologise for taking ages to reply! I haven't been ignoring you, honest! The reason is that in the last three weeks or so have been really busy at work due to world youth week. For those of you who don't know what this is, it is a large gathering of Catholics in Sydney with marches and services culminating with the Pope himself giving an address. Needless to say, the hostel was pretty much fully booked and we have all been pulling extra hours. It was all good though, I met some cool new people and there was very little trouble.
In between work, I have found some time for some fun. There have been a few good nights out, including the leaving do for one of the bosses at work. I have also been to Sydney's Aquarium, which was great. You get to get really close to all sorts of creatures, including crocodiles, manta rays, sharks and seals. See the pictures in my latest photo albums for examples. I have also been to the Maritime Museum. This is located in Sydney's Darling Harbour and is MASSIVE!! The highlight for me though has to be the tours around a replica of Captain Cooks Endeavour, the naval destroyer HMAS Vampire and best of all, the submarine HMAS Onslow. Both of these trips are well worth a look if you are ever in Sydney, but both pale into insignificance with Sydney Tower's Skywalk. As you are probably aware I have already been up to the Observation deck of the tower, but the Sky Walk is something else. Although pretty pricey, you get all rigged up to a safety line and taken outside on top of the tower. While a guide gives you history and facts about Sydney (who knew Manly Beach is so called because the guy who discovered it was impressed with the physique of the Aboriginal men he met there!!), you get to look 268M (the height of the Eiffel Tower I believe) down to sea level. It was an awesome experience and well worth the money. Now for the Bridge Climb!!
I have also had time to take in the new Batman film, The Dark Knight, in the cinema. It was really good, if not a bit long, and well worth a look for fans of the superhero genre! Heath Ledger was really good as the Joker too!
So anyway, thats all for now folks, but stay tuned and I will post again soon, honest!!
