Today we road tripped our way to Memphis, Tennessee.
On our way we stopped off to get Starbucks (my most favourite thing in America) and found this beautiful outside mall with water fountains and statues - very cool.
Once arriving in Memphis we decided to hit up Graceland (sorry Aimee but yes we made it!!) and for two people who aren't huge Elvis fans we weren't expecting much... But it's just amazing! One of our highlights so far is going through his mansion and learning more about it life. Obviously the house is large and very cool but it's also learning he got 90,000 fan mail per day and hired people to reply to every single one!! He produced his own music because he wanted to create his own sound and he donated lots of money to needy families and paid doctors bills for strangers! The mansion tour is very cool you get given an iPad and headphones and it tours you through the grounds telling you his favourite things and showing you a little slice of Elvis behind the scenes. This is a definite must of ever in Memphis!!
After finding our accommodation is near Overton Square we took a walk to get some dinner and found this amazing restaurant called LaFayette's music room where you eat while live bands play. They were awesome and again another highlight so far!!
Our accommodation is amazing we have the whole top floor of this lovely couples house with our own sitting room, Nespresso machine, bathroom and of course a castle! Feels like our own space and nice to relax and have breakfast at home.
