Days 1 & 2 completed and supposedly the toughest ones. Luckily the weather has been kind and part from a slight headwind alls well.
Day one from Lands End to Okehampton has to be one of the hardest days cycling I have ever done. To give you an idea I saw men crying in their tents last night. No really big hills but just a constant up or down
The daily briefing puts it a different way terrain is either
1 Lumpy
2 flat and easy but has a headwind
3 you may need to dig up this hill
4 grippy
5 double grippy ( you do not want this)
Today's 111 miles had all of this including two number 5s , up the Quantocks ( careful ) and Cheddar Gorge
Downhills have been scary with two cyclists so far ending up in hedges and then hospital but nothing serious.
Camping been ok and very well organised but today we have one night of luxury in the brand me student accommodation of the Uni of Bath the security for the NATO conference is in the adjacent block.
Tomorrow see us over the Severn Bridge and on to Ludlow hopefully I will get signal again
